behind the books

hello and welcome!

i'm lena, the gal behind the books and the one behind the keyboard here on read with lena. i've been obsessed with books for as long as i can remember, and in fact, one of my earliest memories is completing reading challenges with my best friend in elementary school. if that doesn't secure my book nerd status, i don't know what will. it goes without saying that i love to read, and i wanted to share that love with other people. and that, folks, is how this little site came to be.

when i'm not reading (or re-reading) books, you can find me working at my "big-girl job" in southern california, tucked away in a corner of a cafe, or perusing a local bookstore in search for the next book to join my ever-growing TBR pile. i also dabble in the world of handlettering, one of my favorite hobbies.

i love reading young adult and adult fiction novels, but i'm looking into expanding into other genres as well. thrillers and nonfiction are on my list! i've recently been reading a lot of romance as of late. a good swoon never hurt anyone!

i also love getting book recommendations and hearing about other peoples' favorite books, so please, leave your favorites in the comments and i'll be sure to check them out.
